On Aug.10, Madison Reading Project hosted a fundraiser at Double S BBQ to support its book-giving programs. The locally based nonprofit gives books and provides literacy based activities to vulnerable children and families in south central and southwestern Wisconsin. Attendees helped raise $3,500 during the musical and BBQ themed event, which featured musicians Thirsty Jones, Josh Harty, and Teddy Davenport. Local book store Mystery To Me held a pop-up bookstore for attendees to purchase books and 67 new books were donated. Sponsors of the event included ABR Employement Specialists, Alphagraphics Madison, Arrow Design Group, Cinnaire, Double S BBQ, Hausmann Johnson Insurance, Mystery To Me, and the Texas Exes.
