Banking is all about building relationships

At Oak Bank, there is no such thing as one-size-fits-all. When individuals walk into our lobby, we want them to feel welcome and at home, like they are visiting with family. We know that each client’s banking needs are as unique as their business, so there will never be a uniform approach from us. It is not just about loans and accounts but building relationships that last a lifetime.

What separates us from the others is our people. Our clients appreciate working with our business bankers because they take the time to understand each facet of their business and get to know them as a person.

“‘Relationship banking’ can be seen as a marketing term, but at Oak Bank, it’s how we operate,” said Jim McNulty, senior vice president of business banking. “Genuine relationships take time to develop, and we invest that time. We want to know the history of our clients’ businesses, their future plans and how we can play a part in making their goals a reality. We meet with our clients in person as much as we can, and we also utilize current technology to connect when appropriate and develop deep knowledge of our clients’ needs, so we can meet their needs now and for years to come.”

Oak Bank’s business bankers are not afraid to color outside the lines and develop creative solutions that other banks wouldn’t even consider. We take pride in knowing that once clients leave our building (or we leave theirs), they know they are cared for and that we have their best interests at heart.

Linda Zimdars, Oak Bank’s senior vice president of business banking, enjoys meeting regularly with her clients and assisting them with turning their dreams into reality and finding solutions to their challenges.

“I believe that the relationship with your banker is one of the most critical a business owner can have in both the growth and stability of their business,” said Zimdars. “The benefits of really knowing your banker personally and developing a meaningful relationship can help you to chart your business on a path with long-term planning.”

At Oak Bank, we believe there is a seat at the table for everyone to contribute. As a team, we use our experience to brainstorm and find solutions.

For example, a small subcontractor needed guidance on how to grow his business and reach new customers. Since working with our experts, he has doubled his business over the last year and is now looking to invest in a home and purchase another truck for his company.

“These are the kind of relationships we build with our clients,” said Zimdars. “It’s like you are gaining a very seasoned advocate for your business, someone who will always have you and your business’ best interests at heart. I invest in my clients, and they invest their loyalty and trust in me. That puts us together as a team, working to make the business nimble and more profitable.”

We are proud of the work we do for the small business community. Each time we interact with a business client, we work diligently to create a customized solution that satisfies their unique needs and deepens and strengthens our relationship.
