The American Family Insurance Championship will return to University Ridge Golf Course in 2027, and it will remain in Madison through 2030 under the terms of an agreement with the PGA TOUR Champions.
The tournament, which has been held at the TCP Wisconsin course for the past two years, will be held the week of June 7-13, with three days of tournament competition, June 11-13, at University Ridge, where it debuted in 2016.
The Championship’s popular team format, which features the only scramble format on PGA TOUR Champions, will also continue.
Madison resident and PGA Tour pro Steve Stricker will continue as player-host.
Since 2016, the tournament has provided about $22 million in charitable contributions through the Steve Stricker American Family Insurance Foundation.
“We’re proud to extend our partnership with the PGA TOUR Champions and ensure this annual event remains an important part of the Madison community,” American Family Insurance Chair and CEO Bill Westrate said in a press release.
“Our long-standing strategic partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Madison reflects a shared commitment to this community and returning to University Ridge adds another meaningful chapter to our shared history.”
Tournament Director Nate Pokrass said American Family appreciates the TPC Wisconsin staff and agronomy team for serving as host venue the last two years.
TPC Wisconsin owner Dennis Tiziani returned the favor.
“We thank American Family, the PGA TOUR Champions, the players, sponsors, volunteers and fans who made these two years so memorable,” Tiziani said in a press release. “We look forward to continuing to support the Championship and the extraordinary charitable work that has always been at the heart of the event.”
