Amid calls for federal regulation, the Trump administration Tuesday reached an agreement with a large group of leaders of artificial intelligence companies to self-police the development of artificial intelligence, according to a report by the Associated Press.
The voluntary accord includes internal and external reviews, but it might not be enough to satisfy critics, including some AI leaders, who believe it’s time to create a national set of standards.
The AI executives met with Trump and House Speaker Mike Johnson following several high-profile incidents where AI agents have “gone rogue” in hacking other systems, raising the public fears about AI technology.
