Local students were looking sharp following the 11th Annual Back to School Haircutz event on Aug. 27 at the Alliant Energy Center. Sponsored by United Way of Dane County and led by JP Hair Design Inc. of Madison, the event was founded by Jeffery Patterson of JP Hair Design who wanted to give back to the
community by using his skills to assist families in need. He and his fellow barbers decided to offer free haircuts to those families prior to a new school year starting. Now in its 11th year, the pop-up event featured more than 30 barbers from shops throughout Dane County providing free back-to-school haircuts for over 1,000 school age children.
