The 2026 midterm election cycle is on track to surpass presidential election spending from 2024, CNBC reported.
According to advertising intelligence company AdImpact, advertising spending for the midterms could reach $11.6 billion. It would beat out the 2024 election, which saw $11.2 billion spent on ads.
AdImpact projects $5.6 billion to be spent on broadcast ads, $1.4 billion on cable ads, $2.6 billion on connected TV ads and$1.68 billion on digital ads.
