Healthcare professionals, first responders and health system leaders will have access to free domestic violence care training during the first-of-its-kind Wisconsin Safe Care Summit on Oct. 22 at the Hilton Appleton Paper Valley Hotel.
The full day of training will focus on how to better identify cases of domestic violence and support people affected by it.
The summit was announced by Kalico Forest, a Northeast Wisconsin-based nonprofit that provides education and support to organizations that address domestic violence, and Christine Ann Domestic Abuse Services.
“Healthcare professionals are often the first to see what no one else sees,” Brian Randall, founder of Kalico Forest, said in a press release. “By bringing this group together in one location, we can strengthen the state’s coordinated response to domestic violence.”
Healthcare professionals attending the summit can earn Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits.
Attendance is free, but registration is required and limited to 150 participants.
