Microsoft is considering two Racine County sites, one in Sturtevant and one in Mount Pleasant, for possible data center expansion, according to a report in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The tech giant, which has already developed one hyperscale data center in Mount Pleasant and is building a second one there, is considering a 70-acre Sturtevant property formerly owned by United Natural Foods and an 80-acre site in Mount Pleasant.

Microsoft is purchasing the Sturtevant property from United Natural Foods, which operated a store at 3138 County Road H before announcing its closing in March. The closing resulted in 400 layoffs.
