Q&A with Paul Rañola, Owner, Requisite Video Productions
Do you have the URL for the video you shared?
The video I shared at the beginning of the presentation can be viewed at http://www.bewareofthedoghouse.com/.
The key points from this video are:
- High production quality
- Humorous, catchy subtle selling approach
- Interactive and engaging online integration (putting people in the "dog house")
- Viral (forwarding to others)
How often do you recommend changing or updating online videos?
It depends on the goal and application of the video produced. If you are producing online videos for a Web site to inform visitors about recent activities at your company, I would recommend new videos every month or more often. If the company's product or services do not change quickly over time, I recommend a longer period of time before changing video content, like every 3 to 6 months.
Did Infinity Martial Arts place their video anywhere online other than their Web site? How did they drive traffic to their video/site? Did they consider placing the video out "where their potential customers live online"?
With the help of our online video distribution services, Infinity Martial Arts has their video posted on YouTube and Facebook which help to bring traffic to their business Web site. They are currently researching where their potential customers "live" but having their video on YouTube and Facebook is a great start.
Could you give us a list of places to post videos online (like YouTube etc.)?
I recommend placing videos produced on your company's Web site, YouTube, Facebook, Google and blogs. But, taking the time to research where your exact marketing his "hanging out" online and placing those videos in those spots is highly recommended.
Can video increase traffic to your Web site? How? Should it be hosted on our company site? Another site? if it's posted on YouTube, for instance, how does our company get traffic to our site?
Yes. Video is the most sought after media on Web sites by search engines. I recommend posting videos on as many other sites as possible other than your company's Web site (especially the free ones). One strategy I recommend is creating a YouTube channel for the company, hosting the video on YouTube and embed the video on the company's Web site. That way, the video is getting views on YouTube and your company's site.
What are some options for a nonprofit to create a quality video production?
Unfortunately quality video production is not cheap, but, I recommend finding sponsors for the online video production. The online video used for a nonprofit normally becomes a heavily-viewed medium on the website, thus this is a great opporutnity to integrate ads in the video (possilbly a 15 second pre-roll ad). Sell the ad space to generate the funds to create the professional online video production. That way you don't have to "skimp" on the quality of your video produced.
The other speakers are currently spending time answering your questions from the event. Questions and answers will be posted as soon as possible.
